Instructions

  1. Boil water using a stove, microwave, or kettle.
  2. Pour boiling water into a bowl and stir in the powder (1 part powder to 2-3 parts water).
  3. Let it cool or immediately pour into a mold. The gel will set at room temperature.
  4. Cut into pieces or shape into slow-release jerky. Once prepared, treat the gel as fresh food.
  5. Store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks or freeze for up to six months.

Tips and Techniques

Jerky Preparation: Prepare the gel as above, pour it into a deep container, then cut the gel into ¼ inch thick slices of desired size. Completely dry in an oven or dehydrator at 150 °F (65 °C) for 8-12 hours. Offering ad libitum can extend the freshness.

Refrigeration is recommended to maintain freshness.
